Welcome to the campus of Aviation Institute Of Maintenance, Philadelphia. The school is located in the Northeast Philadelphia Airport, the third busiest airport in the state of Pennsylvania. AIM-Philadelphia has been training aviation maintenance mechanics for over 50 years and its graduates are working throughout the world. Philadelphia is known as the "Quaker City" having been founded by a Quaker, William Penn.

Aviation Institute of Maintenance is located in the City of Philadelphia, adjacent to the Northeast Philadelphia Airport, (PNE). The school is housed in a total of twenty-four thousand six hundred square feet in two buildings with outside areas designated for aircraft tie downs and engine run ups. There are seven classrooms used for lecture, two large labs, and a hangar for hands on projects. The shop area is filled with all the necessary aviation training aids required by the Federal Aviation Administration for instruction in this course. School equipment includes aircraft, airframes, turbines and piston engines, parts, tools, and many training aids. The maximum number of students in a typical class or laboratory situation is twenty-four students.

Aviation Institute Of Maintenance offers an FAA approved, Part 147, Aviation Maintenance Technician (AMT) program which qualifies graduates to become certified Airframe and Powerplant mechanics. In 1994, AIM was accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology (ACCSCT). AIM also participates in all of the Federal Family Education Loan programs, private loans, veterans, vocational rehabilitation and grant programs.

AIM-Philadelphias AMT programs is designed to prepare graduates for entry level employment in aviation and aviation related fields. By attending day or evening classes, students can develop the technical knowledge and skills required to pass FAA exams and secure employment throughout the world.

Our instructors are certified mechanics with extensive experience working on General Aviation and Military aircraft. The curriculum involves sufficient classroom time devoted to learning the basics and hours of hands on training in the shop. Students are trained to service, repair and troubleshoot aircraft components and systems including the airframe, propellers, instrumentation, piston engines, turbine engines, electrical, hydraulic, warning, and environmental systems. AIM graduates are well qualified to take the FAA certified tests and to secure well paid positions with major and regional airlines.

Academic, vocational and personal guidance is available to all students. Job placement assistance is offered to all students and graduates. Major and regional airline recruiters continually visit our campuses to interview interested students. Students are taught resume writing, interviewing techniques, personal appearance and proper attire and the importance of the first contact with a company.
