Since 1968, Eastern New Mexico University-Roswell's Aviation Maintenance Technology program has been one of the most affordable in the nation. As the only FAA approved Part 147 Airframe and Powerplant training programs in Southeast New Mexico, ENMU-Roswell offers hands-on training in a friendly, student-centered environment. Beginning August, 2011, ENMU-Roswell students can now complete the requirements for a Certificate of Completion in only 14.5 months. The classes and labs have been restructured to better meet the needs of students and industry. The revised curriculum is approved by the Federal Aviation Administration.

This new shortened time-frame, paired with our competitive cost of attendance, positions ENMU-Roswell as one of the most sought-after programs in the nation. The facility at the Roswell International Air Center accommodates an FAA capacity of 60 students. In addition to a shorter training period, students also receive advanced composite repair training, Boeing 727 familiarization training, and Cessna approved composite training certification. Students also benefit from hands-on training on operational aircraft and local internship opportunities. Tuition remains low and on-campus apartments are also available.

Students train using first-rate equipment, including an MU-2D propjet, a Cessna Twin 421, Bell helicopters and five other laboratory aircraft, as well as, simulators and a wide variety of other laboratory equipment. Advanced composite repair training and Boeing 727 familiarization training is also included. ENMU-R graduates are readily recruited by employers and can be found in a variety of A&P positions.
