Aviation Maintenance Technology Program at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University

Get Certified in Sixteen
Months of Training

The Aviation Maintenance Technology Program is a longstanding part of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, America’s most respected institution for aviation and aerospace studies. At Embry-Riddle’s state-of-the-art facilities in Daytona Beach, Florida, AMT students take their training in the ultimate learning environment for aviation’s most sought-after specializations, and enter the job market with certifications from the most highly regarded university in the industry.

Programs Offered
1. Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Technician certification is a 16-month, FAA-approved learning intensive combining classroom theory with hands-on experience.

Eight terms focus on the general, airframe, and powerplant requirements of the FAA’s regulations.

You’ll get the training you need to qualify for the FAA’s Aviation Maintenance Technician certificate with airframe and powerplant ratings.

You may also continue your education in one of Embry-Riddle’s undergraduate degree programs and receive up to 36 credits for your A&P certification. The A & P program at Embry-Riddle is among the leading aviation maintenance programs on the planet.

2. Avionics Line Maintenance (ALM) Technician certification is achieved through 400+ hours of instruction in addition to the A & P Certificate. Learn the skills necessary to return or alter aircraft to a flight status. Whether you already have your Airframe & Powerplant certificate or plan to obtain it at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, you have an opportunity to continue your education with Avionics Line Maintenance Specialization (ALM).

In this four-month certificate program, you’ll learn aircraft electronics (avionics) system installation, wiring concepts, line troubleshooting of avionics aircraft problems and prepare to test for the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) license.

Building upon electrical and electronics training received in the A&P program, you will learn the theories and concepts needed to pass the FCC Radiotelephone Operator License test.

Why ALM?
Embry-Riddle’s ALM program was designed specifically to provide what the industry needs - aviation maintenance technicians with the knowledge and skills to solve any problem found on modern aircraft.

Applicants with experience on the flight line are often put at the top of the list for employment consideration. Airlines offer higher wages to avionics technicians with an FCC license.

This program is available to all aviation maintenance professionals with an A&P certificate.
