Aircraft Mechanic Schools If you’re looking for an in-demand career path that let’s you work with your hands, consider becoming an Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Technician. A&Ps are certified by the Federal Aviation Administration and work for airlines, aircraft manufacturers, general aviation, and aerospace companies.

A&Ps get trained to service, repair and overhaul aircraft components and systems including the airframe, piston engines, turbine engines, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, propellers, rigging, control surfaces, instrumentation, warning systems, and enviornmental systems.

As a graduate from Redstone College’s Airframe and Powerplant program, you’ll be qualified for any entry-level A&P position in the aviation industry. From there, the sky’s the limit.

A&Ps enjoy opportunites for advancement and the chance to work almost anywhere in the United State. Experienced A&Ps with advanced rating and administrative ability can be selected for supervisory and executive postitions. Others can become designated FAA inspectors.

Once you’ve paid your tuition, you’ll receive an extensive tool kit. You’ll use your tools in our lab/shop and ramp areas which have several aircraft for excellent hands-on training. We have operational reciprocating engines and reciprocating and turbine engine run stands, all for you take apart, inspect and reassemble.

Ready for Take-Off?
Our program helps you prepare for the FCC certification exams. The exam fee is even covered in you tuition (first time only).

If you like aviation and are looking for a skilled trade that is in demand, Avionics may be the perfect career path for you. Today’s commercial and civil aircraft rely on sophisticated electronic components and systems. Communications and navigation systems, flight management computers, digital instrumentation, GPS, weather radar systems, and heads-up dispay (HUD) systems are all highly specialized, requiring skilled professionals for efficient installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.

As a result, there is demand for qualified technicians to work with and repair these advanced electronics and avionics systems. But breaking into this demanding field takes more than desire - it takes an education.


Redstone’s Advanced Electronics Technology (Avionics) Program. (Denver Campus Only)
Our Advanced Electronics Technology program first covers basic electronics theory then advances to a hands-on focus on Avionics Systems. It includes 2,100 hours of classroom and laboratory training that teaches you how to troubleshoot and repair communications systems, navigation systems, autopilot, collision avoidance systems, and more.

Real Equipment. Real Skills

  • Receive an extensive tool kit with your tuition

  • Use equipment from Hewlett Packard, Honeywell, Collins, Pace

  • Work on trainers from Heath/Zenith, Lab Volt, Hitachi, PDI, BK

  • Use a full-sized Boeing 727 cock-pit
